When it comes to insurance, you are more likely to go for the big names in the industry. No one can blame you, as these companies provide great coverage on all basic and special dental treatments. But, what you do not know is that the NHS provides insurance for your dental needs. Quite excellently too, because depending on your band course, the NHS can cover all your dental necessities.
There are some conditions, however, that comes with your £10-a-month dental insurance. First, you need to find a dentist that provides NHS services. We here at Moonlight Dental, a NHS dentist in Slough, offer such services, so you need not look elsewhere for government-insured, quality dental services. Second, you still have to pay an NHS dentist for a treatment, which is lower than private-practice dentists.
Lastly, you should check if you enrolled in other plans so as not to pay twice.
It is possible to acquire NHS services in private dental offices. But, you have to clarify that you are getting an NHS treatment to make sure you do not pay the private rate. Yet, there are times that paying more means less stress. Going for a private treatment means you could bypass the NHS waiting lists. In truth, there will come a time when you will not be able to tolerate the pain and stomach the extra fees.
Furthermore, NHS services can be a bit unreliable sometimes. A report on a local website surveyed more than 100 dentists in Suffolk and Norfolk. Many of them are not able to see NHS patients, with one telling a reporter that he should go back next year.
Nevertheless, these are special cases, and the National Health Service remains the primary insurers for many British residents. For a fraction of the cost, people who cannot afford private treatments can still get quality dental procedures.
Remember that you are eligible for free NHS treatments if you are under eighteen, receiving income support or expecting a baby. Determine if you qualify for the free treatment by consulting with the NHS.
